A legacy of impact

General Mills has connected people and resources since our earliest days in the 1800s, when flour was crucial in every home.

Because of combustible dust, flour could be dangerous to produce. 

Our founder didn't keep it to himself when he succeeded in adopting new technology to make his mills safer.

He shared that knowledge with competitors, so their workers could be safer and flour would not be in short supply.
